Monaco has made the very good operation of the dams for accession to the final eighths Europa League, by going to impose itself 3-2 in the additional time, Thursday February 16, in Leverkusen, while Nantes brought back a superb draw 1-1 of its displacement at the Juventus.
Only of the three French teams involved, Rennes lost in Warsaw, against the Ukrainians of Shakhtar Donetsk ( 2-1 ).
In the big poster of the evening, Barcelona and Manchester United separated on a draw 2-2 after having delivered a show worthy of the Champions League. FC Seville, four times winner of the competition since 2015, has taken a break against PSV Eindhoven by winning 3-0 at home.
. Monaco at the end of the effort
Monaco first opened the score on a gag goal, when the guardian of Leverkusen, Lukas Hradecky, marked himself against his camp under pressure from Breel Embolo ( 1-0, 9th ).
The two teams then went back to task, with two goals from Leverkusen ( Moussa Diaby 48e, Florian Wirtz 59e ), and a few moments of big turbulence for Monaco. But the players of the Principality showed a big character by equalizing ( Krepin Diatta, 74th ) and by snatching the victory 3-2 in the additional time ( Axel Disasi, 90 + 2 ).
. Reindeer without inspiration
Rennes, who played in Warsaw, where the Shakhtar Donetsk competes in his European matches because of the war ravaging Ukraine, was shaken up and may feel happy to be still alive, with a single late goal.
Dmytro Kryskiv ( 11e ) and Artem Bondarenko ( 45e + 1 on penalty ) first knocked out very little inspired Bretons in the first period. But Karl Toko Ekambi scored the goal of hope, his first in Red and Black ( 59e ), since his transfer from Lyon.
It is however, for Rennes, a seventh defeat in 11 matches, all competitions combined. The Rennais have also lost Benjamin Bourigeaud, who will be suspended from the return match after a new yellow card.
. Nantais Great
The Nantais, who arrived as an outsider in Turin to face the Juventus of Angel Di Maria and Adrien Rabiot, have achieved a small feat, and gave themselves the right to dream before the return match.
Perhaps impressed by the opponent, the Canaries gave in from the 13th minute, when Dusan Vlahovic concluded a superb collective movement initiated by Di Maria ( 1-0 ).
But they gradually gained confidence, until their superb equalization at the time of play. After a counter full axis of 80 meters, Mostafa Mohamed very intelligently distinguished on his left Ludovic Blas, who scored with a cold-blooded shot ( 1-1, 60th ).
